Firstconnections is a project that is funded by Mission Australia.

The firstconnections project aims to:

• increase the capacity of playgroup facilitators, early childhood workers and parents/carers to recognise speech and language concerns in children attending early childhood services and playgroups;
• increase the capacity of playgroup facilitators, early childhood workers and parents/carers to support language development in children using play-based activities;
• increase access by service providers and parents/carers of 3-6 years olds to speech pathology advice, referral and treatment.
