Meet the Firstconnections team

Kristy Funnell

Kristy is an Early Childhood Teacher with nearly ten years experience in community-based childcare services. She holds a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five Years) and a Master of Education (Inclusive Education) from Charles Sturt University. Kristy joined the Children First team in March 2008 and was keen to accept the First Connections role of Speech and Language Connector in May 2011. Kristy is passionate about inclusion and is a keen advocate for early childhood staff, children and families. She recognises the inherent link between early literacy and school success and knows early intervention is the most effective way to long term success. Kristy enjoys working with early childhood services and the local community to support great outcomes for children.

Donna Daw

Donna is a valued member of the First Connections team, with over 17 years experience in early childhood.  Donna holds a Certificate 3 in Children’s Services and also has experience in administration and advertising.

Donna is passionate about , and has extensive experience in, caring for children with additional needs. She has worked collaboratively with Speech Pathologists and Occupational Therapists from the Learning Support Team and desires inclusive environments for all children and families.
