We're excited to announce this amazing one week offer from Children First – Tamworth Outside…
Children First – Tamworth South Outside School Hours Grand Opening Event!
On Wednesday 27 July 2022, we were excited to officially celebrate the grand opening of Children First – Tamworth South Outside School Hours.
The date marks the one-year anniversary of the service, having opened its doors to local families on 26 July 2021, but was not officially celebrated due to Covid-19 restrictions. The date also coincides with OOSH Educators Day – a national awareness day celebrating the invaluable work OOSH Educators do everyday with our children and families.
We’re very proud of the OSH Hub, its facilities, and what this means for our local working families as they can now access affordable and quality before and after school care, as well as vacation care during the school holidays.
The pandemic has impeded on our ability to-date to physically show-off the OSH Hub to local families, and while we’re currently at 50 per cent capacity, we’re anticipating a swift increase in enrolments now that the Tamworth community seems to have settled-in to the ‘new normal’.
On the day we were joined by special guests:
- Elder – Uncle Len Waters
- Mayor – Russell Webb
- Tamworth South Principal – Leonie Byrne
- GPL CEO – Otto Henfling
- GPL Board – Marcus Turner
- GPL EGM – Robyn Inskip
- CF OSH Manager – Louise Verano
- CF TAMOSH Educator – Nicole King
- CF TAMOSH Educator – Courtney Flemming
- TAMOSH children!
The event opened with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony conducted by Uncle Len Waters, a proud Kamilaroi man, who has an abundance of knowledge of the local Tamworth region. Families enjoyed a free sausage sizzle, tours of the hub facilities, meet and greet opportunities with the Tamworth hub educators, giveaways, kids’ activities and loads more family-friendly entertainment. The event also attended local media news outlets Prime7, Nine NBN News and The Northern Daily Leader!
