Children First celebrate Harmony Day

Children First Harmony Day art exhibition

Children First are hosting an exclusive Harmony Day Art Exhibition at our Blacktown Road Children’s Centre on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 6.30pm – 8pm.

Harmony Day is a government initiative, held on March 21 each year, and celebrates Australian multiculturalism, based on the successful integration of migrants into our community.

Blacktown itself is a city of diverse cultures – a home to over 350,000 people representing around 188 birthplaces. We are proud to say that of the languages in Blacktown, we have 54 represented in the families of our centres, and there are 23 languages represented in our staff. So we’ve decided to celebrate the diverse culture of our centre and showcase the talents of our children.

Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone and supports our ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’ framework.

All art pieces will be available for purchase at $5 a piece which will support our efforts to raise funds for new outdoor equipment. A silent auction will also be on offer for the group artwork.
A coffee truck will be available for families to purchase a hot chocolate or cappuccino. Light refreshments will be offered.

Please RSVP by Monday 19th March if you would like to join us.
