Plumpton occasional care is licensed for 29 children a day aged from six weeks to six years, it is a great occasional centre for the Plumpton and surrounding community. We are a flexible service designed for your individual needs. You can leave your child for any period of time, from one hour to a full nine-hour day. We have five permanent staff each day, including two staff with diplomas and two staff currently completing their diplomas. Our ratios are:
- 0-2yrs: 1 to 4
- 2-3yrs: 1 to 8
- 3-5yrs: 1 to 10
We are open from 8am-5pm from Monday–Friday for 50 weeks of the year.
We aim to provide a trusting, non-threatening, secure, loving and stimulating environment for your child during the time they are in our care. We aim to meet the individual development needs of each child.
As part of each childs development, we keep records of their development which helps us to ensure that the programme we offer has the educational benefits that each child requires. Your child’s development will be collated into an individual portfolio which is available to you at anytime and we encourage you to have a look whenever you have the opportunity.
We follow the Early years learning framework which ensures that all children in early childhood education and care settings experience quality teaching and learning. It has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication and language (including early literacy and numeracy) and social and emotional development. Also the importance of working in partnerships with families, the children’s first and most influential educators.
You are required to send your child with appropriate food to cover the time your child is booked in. As a nut free centre we encourage healthy eating habits and ask that you provide healthy, nutritional food for your child.
Fees are $8 per hour and $65 for the full day. All families may be eligible to claim the Child Care Benefit which will result in a reduction of fees.
