It was all smiles this weekend, Saturday 19 August 2017, at Plumpton Market Place for the Baby & Kids Mini Market. Playvan, our mobile support playgroup service, provided hours of entertainment with an early literacy focused paper puppet making activity.
Playvan Coordinator Rebecca Holloway said “Puppets are incredibly powerful because they allow children to articulate thoughts and feelings and it’s the perfect platform to link literature with storytelling.”
“The children were able to express themselves using paper plates, brown paper bags, wiggly eyes, feathers, crepe paper, pipe cleaners and more. We also got to meet lots of new families, as well as catch-up with some familiar faces from our regular playgroups.” Says Rebecca.
Playvan visits Blacktown, Riverstone and Plumpton every week. The Playvan team are experts in delivering fun play-based activities that incorporate many different skills. Playvan, together with our Growing Early Minds service, can help identify areas where children might be having difficulties and provide tips, strategies and resources to them learn, develop and reach their goals. We can also help families navigate the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme).
